Frequently asked questions:
Who is eligible for our services?
Our program is designed to help students from families who may be experiencing financial hardships. Our services best serve 7th-12th grade students who cannot otherwise afford private academic mentorship or tutoring services. Priority is given to students/families that receive government assistance, such as EBT/SNAP/WIC/Food Stamps, Medicaid, Free or Reduced Lunch, Housing Assistance, or other related programs. However if you don’t meet these requirements, we still encourage you to apply! We consider all applications.
Which areas do we service?
Our mentors are primarily located in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Priority will be given to students who reside in MA or CT, but we are open to considering applications from outside these states.
Is there a cost associated with participating?
All of our services are free of charge! We pride ourselves in offering our mentorship and tutoring programs at no cost to eligible students.
How are students matched to mentors?
Families or guardians will discuss the students’ needs with our Executive Director during their onboarding process. Students and families will be able to submit a request for their desired mentor, though students will ultimately be matched to a mentor who best fits their requirements based on the mentor’s strengths and availability.
What about students with a lack of internet/ computer access?
We will work with families or guardians to find accessible resources in their area. If there is a concern about internet or technology access, we still encourage you to apply! Our goal is to help every student in need, in any way we can.
